Promotion of Argentinian wine, gastronomy and tango in Jakarta.

In the framework of the Argentinian wine, gastronomy and tango promotional activities held in Jakarta during the month of April 2019, the Embassy organized, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship and the Argentine Agency of Investment and International Trade, the following events:

On April 23, 2019, the "Celebrating Argentina" event took place at the Hotel Grand Hyatt Jakarta. It was attended by special guests (representatives of restaurants, hotels, specialized press, associations of sommeliers, businessmen, diplomatic corps and local officials), who had the opportunity to taste the wines of the following Argentine wineries: Trapiche, Norton, Mi Terruño, Trivento, Susana Balbo and Bodegas Molina.

Particular significance is to be paid to the following Indonesian companies importing Argentine wines: PT Pantja Artha Niaga, PT. Dimatique International, PT Jaddi Internasional, PT Dwimitra Sukses Perkasa amd PT Mandiri Graha Persada. Likewise, the representative of Bodegas Molina, Mrs. Irina Tsuda, participated.

The menu of the event at the Grand Hyatt was in charge of the Argentine chef Mauro Santarelli, complemented by Argentine mozzarella cheese marketed in Indonesia under the brandname "Green Valley" imported by the company "Prambanan Kencana", together with empanadas kindly offered by the Argentine restaurant "La Posta" (https://www.laposta.id). The guests at the Grand Hyatt event could also enjoy a presentation of tango that was in charge of dancers David Figueroa and Susana Ocampo.

Further down the week of commercial and cultural promotion, on April 25th and 26th the Embassy organized two additional events to promote the Argentine Malbec.

Firstly, on April 25th, at the recently opened restaurant "Sudestada" (www.sudestadagrill.com), a tasting of Argentine wines from the wineries Norton, Kaiken, Mi Terruño, Trivento, Susana Balbo, Trapiche and Terrazas de los Andes was held for special guests (hospitality businesspeople, foreign Ambassadors and local officials and, in particular, wine importers and clients recommended by those same importers). A high quality Argentinean menu was especially prepared by the Argentine chef Víctor Taborda. The activity was accompanied by a tango presentation by the Indonesian dancers Ferrol Matthew Poluan and Mulianny Rambe, who received the 5th prize in the Tango World Championship that took place in Argentina in 2015. The couple also danced at the event held the following evening.

The last event took place on April 26th at the "Aprez Café", located in the tower complex "Pakubuwono Residence", where a wine tasting was held, in particular Malbec wines, offered to those residents who had previously booked a place at the venue. The selected wines were from the wineries Norton, Kaiken, Mi Terruño, Trivento, Susana Balbo, Trapiche and Terrazas de los Andes, accompanied by gastronomy prepared especially for the occasion.

It is estimated that a total of 250 people participated in the different events organized by the Embassy of Argentina in order to promote the wine, gastronomy and tango of Argentina in Jakarta.
